This collection is an index to marriages performed in Iowa from 1836 to 1926. The records in this collection include the names and ages of the bride and the groom and the date and place of the marriage.<br><br>In addition to the genealogical information this index provides about the marriage, these records can be useful in requesting the original marriage licenses from which this index is derived. Additional information is usually available on the original documents and may list the bride's and groom's birthplace and the names and birthplaces of their parents.
